Fill process monitoring & rejection

Automatic reject systems for filling machines

Protect the finished line from no-fill, underfill, overfill and process-failed containers. We integrate filler status and downstream inspection with the reject station.

Automated liquid filling and labelling line with downstream conveyor inspectionRepresentative engineered production application

The inspection result is only useful when the right product leaves the line.

A filling machine may generate its own reject signal, or the filled product may be checked downstream by vision, level inspection or a checkweigher. In each case the failed container must remain identifiable through accumulation, capping and other processes before it reaches the reject point.

Oxford Vision Systems develops the tracking and conveyor controls around the real line sequence. Repeated failures can trigger an alarm or line stop, while agreed feedback signals may help the filler correct gradual process drift.

How our integration works →
Typical pass / fail criteria

Decisions the reject system can act on.

The final inspection capability depends on the selected equipment, product presentation and agreed acceptance criteria. Sample trials are used where practical.

✓No-fill or missed container
✓Underfill or overfill
✓Fill-level failure
✓Filler head fault
✓Missing container at nozzle
✓Consecutive process failures
Engineered as one sequence

From detection signal to independently confirmed removal.

01

Result tracking

The fill result remains linked to the container through downstream equipment.

02

Suitable reject method

Wet, open or unstable containers receive a handling solution matched to the process.

03

Process feedback

Alarms, stops or agreed trend signals help prevent ongoing non-conforming output.

Specification questions

Before we design the reject station.

Product samples, line drawings and a short production video help us identify the best next step.

Can rejection happen after capping?+

Yes. We map the product through the intermediate process and track the failure to a safe reject position after closure.

Can a checkweigher control the filler?+

Where both systems support it, weight trends can provide feedback. The control strategy and responsibility boundaries are agreed before implementation.

What happens after repeated fill failures?+

The controls can alarm or stop the line after an agreed number or pattern of consecutive failures.
