Label verification & reject integration

Label inspection with automatic rejection.

Stop missing, incorrect or badly applied labels before they reach packing. We combine label inspection, code reading and tracked rejection for bottles, jars, cartons and packs.

The inspection result is only useful when the right product leaves the line.

Label defects can arise from missing labels, backing-web breaks, skewed application, wrong artwork, poor print or a mismatch between product and label data. Sensors, barcode readers and vision inspection can each contribute to the final quality decision.

The rejected product is tracked beyond the labeller and removed without disturbing adjacent accepted packs. For front-and-back or wraparound labels, camera position and product rotation are designed to expose every required inspection area.

How our integration works →
Typical pass / fail criteria

Decisions the reject system can act on.

The final inspection capability depends on the selected equipment, product presentation and agreed acceptance criteria. Sample trials are used where practical.

✓Missing label
✓Skewed or misplaced label
✓Wrong label or artwork
✓Barcode or Data Matrix failure
✓Date or batch-code failure
✓Front-and-back label presence
Engineered as one sequence

From detection signal to independently confirmed removal.

01

Complete label view

Cameras, sensors and product handling expose the required inspection surfaces.

02

Product-to-label match

Code data or vision features confirm the label belongs to the running product.

03

Downstream rejection

The failed product is removed after the labelling process and independently verified if required.

Specification questions

Before we design the reject station.

Product samples, line drawings and a short production video help us identify the best next step.

Can you detect the wrong label?+

Yes. Barcode data, printed text or selected visual features can be compared with the current product recipe.

Can the system inspect labels on round bottles?+

Yes. The handling may rotate the bottle or use multiple cameras to view the necessary label area.

Can this be added after an existing labeller?+

Often, yes. We assess available conveyor length, product spacing, guarding and control signals before confirming the retrofit.
